For “a nicer underground” !

It is on the platform of the station “Strasbourg-Saint Denis” that I learned that there are 23 millions white tiles in the Parisian underground…
A very impressive number !
These information are the object of advertisements in the frame of the project “Un métro + beau” (A nicer underground).
Launched in the 90s, this project should end in 2016. The goal ? Redevelop and renovate 273 stations, i.e. 291 000 m2 : with more light, pleasant corridors, colorful seats…
450 millions € have been invested in this project and several sites are still going on such as the ones in Opéra or République.
We learn everyday on and in the underground !
