As soon as entered in the park, the silence took place, the aligned big tree-trunks, the breeze in the leaves, the benches along the paths, a substantial serenity while the hubbub was being rife in the next streets…
The laughs of the children and the victorious cries of the Brownies in the labyrinths were the only heckler elements but contributed to the “weekend in the countryside” effect.
At the end of the path, a kitchen garden. Surprise, the door is open. And here we are walking between potatoes plants and the aromatic ones.
A little handwriting sign says this is a space dedicated to the neighborhood schools : the childen plant, cultivate and harvest… it would almost make us wanted to go back to school !
Actually the kitchen garden is part of the Maison du Jardinage [Gardening House], accomodated in a XVIIth century house and whose front is enlighted by a wall of reddish automnal ivy.
This place enables the gardening lovers to take lessons, borrow books on the subject, participate in exhibitions…
A beautiful discovery !
For those who dare saying that they don’t like Paris notably because of the incessant noise… go to the Bercy Park, and I can assure you you will change your mind !
